Baby Things

I said in a previous post that a lady that lives next to my mum done a load of knitting for me. I thought I'd share a few things that she made.

This isn't everything but these are my favourites!! She also knitted a beautiful shawl. It's double the length of what you see. I just couldn't fit it all in the picture!

These are a few things I kept from Keira's baby days.

I absolutely love knitted things on babies. My mum is going to knit lots booties in different colours. I wish I could do it myself!

Haul Time

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I've been super tired and going to bed at 7pm with Logan! I'm tired tonight too but I'm trying to stay awake for another hour or so.

Anyways, I got a few things today and I wanted to share.

Yesterday my best friend went to Lush and since I wasn't going to be able to go myself for another couple of weeks I asked her to pick me up a couple of the Halloween pumpkins! One for me and one for Keira. They got a bit broken in transit but that doesn't matter. They're going to be broken up anyways!

And on the subject of my best friend.. she gave me one of her Yankee Candle wax tarts that she's not keen on but I love! Cranberry Ice. I'm planning on buying a large jar. And today she gave me a wax tart of A Child's Wish because it's one I've been wanting to try!

I went to Asda today to do my weekly shop and as usual I had to have a look around the clothes! I got Keira and Logan a Halloween t-shirt each and a pair of boots each. And since I was buying for Keira and Logan it was only fair that I bought for Macey too! I got her a pack of sleepsuits and my mum bought her some bibs!

And since I mentioned my best friend and she's so beautiful, I thought I'd add a picture of her! Haha!

Sorry for the terrible quality pictures. I took them on my phone because I can't find my camera anywhere.

Matalan Wish List

Since I became a mummy all my spare time gets spent looking at and for kids clothes etc. I have a wish list about a mile long for each child, even my daughter who isn't here yet!
I wanted to share some of the things that I'm planning on buying the kids, so, I picked one shop and stuck with it! This time I picked Matalan! Next time I'll pick a different shop!

Things for Keira

Things for Macey (even though she's not here!)

Ultrasound & First Haul

Today, I had my recheck gender scan. And baby is still a girl! I'm still over the moon. Since I know baby is definitely a girl. The Sonographer did loads of measurements and so far she is only measuring one day ahead which is pretty average.

I also did my first pink baby shop! I have a few bits from before I knew the gender.  A changing mat, some vests and some sleepsuits that are all gender neutral. A lady that lives next to my mum also handed in a huge bag of knitting she had done for me! I will show you all what she made in another post very soon!

We also went to a couple of shops. Poundland to stock up on Halloween supplies. The kids are having a mini Halloween party at my mum's house. We have family visiting at our house between 31st October and 4th November. But because I have a little bit of social anxiety and I've only met one of them once I can't share my house with them. I'm staying at my mum and dad's house with the kids while they are here. I feel bad, it's making me seem rude but I'm really not!
Then we went to Build A Bear. I bought the kids a toy each but they are going away for Christmas. =)

My kids this morning before leaving to catch the train. Keira is wearing her new t-shirt from F&F.

Build A Bear toys! Logan has requested a Spider Man outfit for his. And Keira is super excited about her Unicorn from My Little Pony. She is horse and pony crazy at the moment. So much so that after Christmas we're talking about getting her some horse riding lessons.

Peanut Butter Squares

This is a no bake sweet. So very simple to make!

You Will Need:

1 jar of smooth peanut butter
200g butter (unsalted)
260g icing sugar
12 crushed digestives (roughly, you can add more)
200g chocolate drops (I used milk chocolate but you can use dark or white if you like)

Decoration for the top is optional

How To:

1. Melt 230g of peanut butter and the butter together in the microwave.
2. Add in the digestives and the icing sugar and mix.
3. Press the mix into a 9x9 baking pan.
4. Melt the remaining peanut butter and chocolate drops together and pour on top of the biscuit mixture and let set.

This does make quite a lot. You can half the mixture if it's not going to be shared with a lot of people. Beware, it is delicious but very sweet!

None! I can't bring myself to do it! I don't know if it's the fact that I'm getting older and I feel stupid doing it or if it's the fact that I'm terrifyingly ugly and don't want people to look at me! Probably a bit of both.

Pregnancy Week 17

(Baby is roughly the size of an onion. Average size of 5.1 inches and 5.9oz)

How far along? 17 weeks
Total weight gain:
Maternity clothes? Yes. Still the same. I haven't bought anything new. I've spent most of this week in pyjamas because I've been sick.
Stretch marks? I'm covered in them from my first pregnancy. I don't think it's possible for me to have anymore!
Sleep: I'm sleeping good. I've been sleeping through the day as well. But I think that's down to be sick.
Best moment this week: Feeling baby give kick and really starting to be able to feel exactly where baby is in my belly.
Miss anything? Still peanuts!
Movement: Yes! A little more this week than last.
Food cravings: I'm desperate for a toffee sundae from McDonalds. I should be getting one on Monday! Haha!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week.
Gender: Still hoping the gender hasn't changed from last week! Hopefully still a girl!
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Extreme bloating. To the point that I looked about 10 weeks ahead! And I've been very tired but I think that's because I had a bad cold. I've also had, what feels like, slight stretching pains where my c section scar is. I'm assuming it's my uterus expanding.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? I'm not wearing it at the moment but it still fits, so on!
Happy or moody most of the time: A bit mixed this week because I've been so tired.
Looking forward to: Going for my scan! I changed the day to Monday because it's more convenient for me. So, not long now! And hopefully buying a couple of bits for baby afterwards!

Nail Of The Day

I actually did this a couple of days ago but it's taken me until now to get a kind of decent picture! The picture still doesn't show it true to life. It's so, so sparkly! It has a couple of chips in it now so I'm almost ready to take it off and put something new on.

For this look I used two polishes. China Glaze - International Flare and W7 - Pink Dazzle. I used two coats of International Flare as a base followed by 3 or 4 coats of Pink Dazzle. It takes a lot of coats to achieve the extra sparkly look. I suggest doing this when you have nothing to do for a while. It takes bit longer to dry than usual because there's so many coats!

Keira is having her nails done the same at the moment but because there's no way she'd be able to stay still we're doing it over the whole day. She's had her first base coat and is almost ready for her second.

More Christmas Things!

I like to buy or make a few special personalised decorations for Christmas every year. I already have a few for this year and I have my eye on some more! My plan is to let the kids pick one decoration of their own every year. I will write their name and the date on the back or add a little tag to them. I'll save these decorations until they have their own houses and families so they can use them on their own trees!

These are the ones I have bought so far...
(The only thing that bugs me about these ones is that they only had an older boy and younger girl. My daughter is the oldest of the two. They have a baby as well, which I am going to order after we've double checked that baby is definitely a girl!)
(These were ones from last year that I found in Dobbie's Garden Center. They never have my kids names on anything so I was lucky to get these!)

(These are some that I made)

I like to make everything as Christmasy as possible for the kids to add to the excitement. Two years ago I found some bed sets with Santa Claus on them. I bought one for Logan even though he was only 6 months old. This year I'm hoping he'll be in a single bed by Christmas so he'll get the use of it. Keira's used her one twice. Then a couple of weeks ago I found some different bed sets, so I bought two of them as well so they have one for changing with. I'm hoping to decorate their bedroom this year and put lights up at their window. I'm so excited for them!!

(The one on the left is the one from two years ago and the one from the right is the new one)

This is the bed set on the bed. Not the best pictures but it's all I seem to have at the moment!

What do you do to make Christmas that little bit more special or do you have any plans to start something new?

Christmas Lists..

I'm really struggling with deciding what to get the kids this year for Christmas. My list has changed so many times it's unreal. It doesn't help that the kids ask for everything.. I mean everything. Every advert shown on TV. This is a few things I'm planning to buy at some point soon to put away for Christmas..

Keira:

Logan:

I'm having a huge cut back on toys this year. I'm not buying near as many as they usually get. Next year I'll have three kids to buy for. Not that I mind buying toys, they just take up so much space. Space that we don't have!

What are your kids getting this year?

For My Children...

Do you have a song that reminds you of your child/children? I do. I sing this song regularly and listen to it with my kids. I hope it's something that will always remind them of me when they're all grown up and maybe even have their own kids. Feeling all emotional today!

Lullaby by The Dixie Chicks

They didn't have you where I come from
Never knew the best was yet to come
Life began when I saw your face
And I hear your laugh like a serenade

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up

I slip in bed when you're asleep
To hold you close and feel your breath on me
Tomorrow there'll be so much to do
So tonight I'll drift in a dream with you

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up

As you wander through this troubled world
In search of all things beautiful
You can close your eyes when you're miles away
And hear my voice like a serenade

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
