On Dublin Street

So, occasionally I like to read adult books. I noticed this one had some good reviews so I thought I'd just go for it. I've been in a bit of a reading slump. My books are taking me ages to get through. These type of books are good to get my reading pace back. I read this one in two days.

This is the story of Joss and her heartbreaking past. But her life is turned around when she meets Braden. This book is set in Edinburgh, Scotland. This to me was amazing because I didn't have to imagine all the places mentioned! I already knew what it all looks like. Even Dublin Street itself.
Sometimes I found the protagonist a little annoying but nothing really bad. Overall, I enjoyed this book and went straight on to reading one of the novellas. I'm currently reading a second novella from this series and will move onto the second book which is a story from a different characters point of view.

This book is for you if you enjoyed the likes of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Teacher Gifts

Today was the last day of school for the summer holidays in Scotland (or yesterday in my house! Keira didn't go today). Every year I have the problem of trying to decide what to get the teachers as gifts. Keira has her main class teacher and two support teachers every day. They all honestly deserve a medal. They have a lot to put up with when it comes to Keira and I'm super grateful. They are amazing with her. The whole school is. This year was a last minute decision. I wanted to get them something that not everyone would have gotten. I looked in the Card Factory etc at the thank you gifts and figured they'd probably get them all over and over.

I decided to get them all a mug from Cath Kidston. I'm actually pretty jealous and want one for myself. Especially the middle one! I also got her two support teachers a Cath Kidston keyring. Her main teacher got a pretty nail polish by Ciate. I know she likes nail art. At the moment Cath Kidston has a sale on so everything was down in price. I also bought a large 40 serving chocolate cake to go in the staff room.

If  I hadn't left it so late I probably would have gotten them some personalised book marks or something along those lines.

Do you buy your kid's teachers gifts? I'd love to hear some other ideas.

H&M Home

I recently placed an order with H&M from their homeware sections. This is the first time I've bought anything like that from them.

I've bought some cheaper bed sets recently and the quality is just not what I was looking for. I was in two minds about the H&M bed sets. Mostly because I hadn't seen any in person or even spoke to anyone who used H&M home. However, the quality is amazing! And that's not even the best bit. If you're like me and struggle to keep the duvet in place whilst trying to put the cover on, then H&M bed sets are for you! They have a little opening at the top on each side for you to put your hands in and hold onto the duvet! I think this is a great idea and I don't understand why other companies haven't done this yet! The openings aren't noticeable at all one the bed is made. I'm planning on buying one for my bed very soon!

The towels are also good quality. I bought shower towel size. They are perfect for the kids. I don't know if it's weird or not but my kids all have their own towels. I have a towel cupboard that hold mine and Paul's one. Keira, Logan and Macey all have their own separate towels that no one uses apart from them. I don't know why that happened but I like it that way.

Overall, I highly recommend giving H&M home a try!

I'm Back!

Now that everything seems to be on the up, I feel like I can get back to blogging and hauling!
We got Keira's blood test results. Her thyroid is fine but she's low on iron. So, she has medication to take to try and help her out.
I've been to hospital to see the consultant about my problem. I've lost tissue in my right breast which is causing the indentation. I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders!

So, some posts will hopefully be coming later today!

Life Update and Taking A Break..

I haven't really blogged much since Macey was born. I just don't have the same time at the moment. I was almost getting myself back on track. I had loads of entires planned and saved on draft.

But the past couple of weeks have been pretty rough. I don't really want to write entries making out everything is happy when at the moment it's not.

A couple of weeks back we noticed that Keira looked a bit different but we really couldn't put our finger on what it was. Then one day I was taking pictures of the kids and I noticed that Keira looked like she had no eyelashes. This was strange because she's had really long and thick eyelashes since the day she was born. It was always one of the first things anyone noticed about her. So, after having a proper look at her eyes I decided to take her to the doctors. She was booked in for a blood test to check her thyroid. Thing is, when we started the journey to diagnosing her Autism, I asked about her thyroid and it was brushed off. When she was younger she always had a visibly puffy neck. It's not so noticeable now that she's bigger but I'd say it's still slightly puffy. She's also really hyperactive, which is also a symptom. She had her blood test last Thursday. She was so brave. Didn't even cry! We get the results on Monday next week. Which is also Logan's 3rd birthday!
Last week I noticed that I have an indentation on my right breast. I went to the doctors with it today and I've been referred to the hospital to have it further checked. It may be nothing but it's still doesn't stop the worry.

Logan is also going through a phase at the moment where he is terrified of everything. I can't even go to the toilet without him standing outside the door screaming at the top of his lungs. He has his nursery visit soon. I'm starting to worry that he won't be out of this phase by the end of the summer and he makes going to nursery every day difficult.

Macey is doing amazingly. Haha. No problems with her at all. She's a complete gem!

So, I'm 100% stressed all of the time at the moment. I feel like I'm on the verge of a mental breakbown...

Oh life, why are you so mean?! :(

Joyland by Stephen King

I started reading this book right before I went into hospital to have Macey. Like my last book, it took me longer than usual to read it. Now that we're settling into a routine and Macey is sleeping all night my reading pace is starting to pick up again.
Even though it took me a while to read this pretty small book, I absolutely loved it. It's a story about a murder mystery and a summer of working in an amusement park. If you're looking to get into Stephen King's works I'd say this would be a great starter book! It's a relatively easy read. I knew what the end was going to be from about half way through the book but I still really enjoyed it!
